IT Contract Review

The SPC IT Contract Team is a specialty group within the SPC Contract Team that provides contract review for all IT contracts at Brown for administrative, academic, and research purposes.

BCM IT Contracts logoBCM IT Contract review typically includes an ancillary Data Security Review (DSR) from the OIT Information Security Group (ISG) and PCI compliance review from the Finance Division to assess the appropriate Data Risk Classification level when Brown data is involved.

The SPC IT Contract Team will conduct the contract review and incorporate special contract language in accordance with the Data Security Review to ensure compliance with accessibility standards, Export Controls, Brown's insurance requirements, PCI compliance, and provide appropriate privacy controls.

If the software/services will accept credit card payments

All software/services accepting credit card payment must comply with University Policy on Accepting and Handling Credit Cards to Conduct University Business and be approved by the University Commerce Committee. Contact Financial Services at commerce@brown.edu to initiate this process.

Please note that when submitting a request into BCM involving a contract for Software, IT Software Hosting/Cloud Services, Software Maintenance and Software Subscriptions, a Technology Request should have been initiated first through OIT.
